Privacy

Frictionary has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. The dictionary lives on your phone.

What stays on your phone

Your settings, your place in the book, the words on your route, and whether you've finished the first-launch guide are stored only on your device. They are never sent anywhere, and deleting the app deletes them.

Anonymous usage statistics

To learn how the app is used and where it can be better, Frictionary sends anonymous usage signals through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These signals say things like "the app was opened", "an onboarding step was reached" or "12 words were opened this session", along with the app version, the iOS version and the device model.

They contain no personal information: no name, email, contacts or location, and nothing you look up. They are not linked to your identity, not used for advertising, and not shared with data brokers. TelemetryDeck receives only a one-way, anonymised identifier, so it can count users without knowing who anyone is. You can read TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.

Children

Frictionary does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
